It's never too late for an Engagement session!

It's never too late for an engagement session. That's something I've come to understand in my years as a photographer. Today, I want to share a little story about Mike and his fiancé, a lovely couple who reached out to me just a week before their wedding day.

 

You see, Mike and his soon-to-be wife had a last-minute realization. Despite the whirlwind of wedding preparations, they felt something was missing. That something was a set of engagement photos they could cherish. They hadn't had time to get them done earlier and now, with the wedding right around the corner, they were regretting it.

 

So, they quickly reached out to me. Could I, they asked, squeeze in an engagement session for them? Now, I know what you're thinking. An engagement shoot mere days before the wedding? That's cutting it close! But let me tell you, I was up for the challenge.

 

Two days later, we were in the thick of it, capturing these adorable pictures. I showed up to their beautiful Alexandria house and we quickly got to work! They already had a few spots in mind and we were off strolling around the beautiful cobblestone streets of the neighborhood. Every shot was filled with their genuine affection and their excitement for the upcoming wedding. It was a wonderful session, and one that I'm proud to have been a part of. We could not have picked a better day! With the perfect amount of sunlight and cloud coverage, we were able to get soft and light images all throughout Old Town Alexandria. We did a bit of everything and ended the session right by the water, steps from their house!

 

In the end, Mike and his fiancé got their cherished engagement photos. Photos that captured their love story beautifully, just in time for their wedding day. But more importantly, they taught me a valuable lesson. It's never too late for an engagement session. Never too late to capture love.
