Capturing the Love and Intimacy: The Engagement Session of Fatima and Colin

I recently had the pleasure of capturing an engagement session that was nothing short of dreamy - despite the winds, or maybe even because of them. The couple, Fatima and Colin, were awesome and embraced the wind but also weren't afraid to show their fun and playful relationship.

 

Fatima and Colin are one of those couples who radiate warmth and love. You can just see it in the way they look at each other, the way they laugh together, the way they hold hands. There is a sort of magic in their relationship, a kind of unspoken understanding that binds them together. It's a love that's tangible, that you can almost reach out and touch.

 

On the day of the shoot, we met up at Chicago's North Ave Beach and the wind was blowing quite fiercely, but instead of seeing it as a hurdle, we decided to use it to our advantage. We walked up and down North Ave Beach and got a mix of them walk, talking and just being themselves. As the session progressed, the gusts of wind got stronger and added a certain charm to the photos, creating a dreamy ambiance that perfectly complemented the couple's love story.

 

As a photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better setting. The wind tousling Fatima's hair, the way Colin would wrap his arms around her to keep her warm - these were the little moments that made the day truly special. It was these organic, unscripted moments that truly captured the essence of their relationship.

 

Not every engagement session is quite this dreamy. But when it is, it makes my job feel less like work and more like a privilege.
